
Well here is the promised local scenery.
St. John the Baptist church in Layer-de-la-Haye, about 25 miles NNE of Hockley. You may be forgiven for imagining this is a particulary lovely example of the local churches, but in fact this is just one of many fantastic buildings I saw on Sunday while touring north from Hockley into Suffolk. This is a rather large file, as I thought at least one blogger might like to use it as a computer background, so it is 1024x768 pixels. Clicking on the picture with the left mouse button will lead to the big file, and then in most browsers a right click option is to set as desktop background. If not, just right click and save, and then set your background accordingly. The link above tells you a little more about his 12th century church.
