We here at Peck UK are known for our dithering and lack of planning. With that in mind, all of that wishful thinking about Turkey, Egypt, Portugal etc over the "half-term" break has dissolved and we have booked a cottage in Marazion, Cornwall. We found that the other destinations were quite expensive during this time with people escaping winter here, and you are not actually guaranteed great weather anyway!
We hope to stay with May again on the way down next Friday night (10th Feb), and then onwards to the cottage the next day. We have booked it for a week and although people tell us it could be quite cold down there, from my reading it could well be the perfect time - no crowds, nice crisp Atlantic air, lotsa fish, and views to die for. Of course, we'll pack heaps of DVDs, books, games etc., just in case! One of the first blogs I wrote on this site showed a picture of me relaxing in Augusta at Easter time. The weather then wasn't terrific either, but what a great family holiday! We hope to see St. Michaels Mount and maybe even get out to the Scilly Islands, featured recently in the show "An Island Parish".
The picture shown above was taken last Saturday night at May's place. You can see the traditional Wiltshire gravy pouring ceremony taking place, then anti-clockwise is May, Kim, Ollie's ear and Kym. Quite a feast!
