Cornish Delights
Hi to all - we have returned from Cornwall and no doubt the next few blogs will feature a picture or two of the spectacular coastline. Marazion was very nice - very quiet in the off season and often the Pecks were the only customers at the Fire Engine Pub just up the road! We had two solid days of rain in which we watched DVDs, read books and newspapers, and generally relaxed. The rest of the time it was fine enough to venture out, and indeed the day we went to St. Ives (meeting the seven wives, seven sacks, etc.,), it was quite warm (see picture of the boys having lunch on the harbour wall). So we have seen Lands End (and the Minak Theatre), Penzance, the arresting St. Michael's Mount, and lots of little villages and interesting other local attractions (like the surprising Telegraph Museum). There were a lot of places closed (but we sneaked in anyway), and generally we did feel we had most of the coast to ourselves. For those who have visited Portland or Esperance, I can say that there are similarities, but that Cornwall has this amazing history aspect added to its rugged natural beauty that makes it quite unique. There is quite a culinary history in Cornwall, but the local Cornish Pasty didn't appeal to everyone, nor did the fish and chips, but we enjoyed "clotted cream" on strawberries which was very nice.

Hello all!
Having read your blog re Cornwall it sounds as though you made a good choice. What better way to spend your weeks break than seeing new places, experiencing different food, staying in an interesting cottage as well as having a couple of days relaxing?
Lots of love, Cushla xxxx
