I scooted out to Heathrow terminal three on Friday night, judging the 1:20hr run with 4 minutes to touchdown of the Cathay Pacific long haul from Hong Kong. 45 minutes later, two tired septuagenarians hobbled out from customs and immigration. I gave them a couple of pillows and some bottled water, and then we were away anti-clockwise on the M25 back to Wickford. Just clipping the tail of the bank holiday traffic snarling it's way across the Dartford Crossing, we made it back around 10:45pm (5:45am WST). After a cuppa and a few hugs we sent them off to bed and Sat and Sun was spent scooting around locally getting the "lay of the land". For instance this afternoon we drove up to Hockley (booooo!), and Maldon looking at the schools Eric and Cushla have been hearing so much about. Tomorrow is open day at New Hall School, so that should make an interesting contrast to what they have seen already. Cooking for six mouths is interesting, must buy some more pots! To all who visit, you are most welcome, please leave us a reminder of your stay! Cya!
