Termly reminder

Thank you to all the well wishers on the occasion of my birthday last week. Of particular interest were those parcels that arrived from Australia containing twisties, cheezels, nerds, tim tams, fantales and minties. Sadly, such joy is short lived, because when you turn your back on such delights, they mysteriously disappear! Proof in my view of alternate reality theories, and so surely somewhere else there is a pile of Australian confectionery that has appeared out of the quantum quagmire. Either that, or my family has guzzled them? Here in the UK we have one week remaining before the mysterious half-term break that must surely be the most idiotic idea in the English education "system" - educationally speaking we are just hitting our stride in the new term, so I wonder what we can do to cause the most disruption to the students' learning? A week off! Brilliant! Cue the "Yes, Minister!" music and fade to black.
For the half-term, we will be motoring North to the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. I am hoping that the weather improves, but I am mindful that the family Peck do not mind the odd day indoors reading, playing cards and perhaps my new monopoly game? Bye for now - Ant.
P.S. If someone can pass on a recipe for making 14 year old boys smile for photographs, I'd be most interested!
