HAPPY 28TH BIRTHDAY (AGAIN) KYM!

Now that it is general knowledge that we are coming home, there has a sudden increase in my online workload to organise the myriad of details necessary to effect a smooth changeover. The juggling of so many variables is problematic, but at least we are returning to a known quantity so I am hopeful of a slightly less stressful transition!
We are in the middle of yet another examination and reporting season here, so the boys have sat a plethora of tests, and in fact Jackson has a cluster of GSCE exams coming up in June for which the preparation has already commenced.
I seem to work feverishly for a few days on "serious" matters such as airfares, hotels, insurance, shipping, etc., but then stress forces me to seek more tangential pastimes. Today for instance I found out that a £880000 Bugatti Veyron goes 0-100mph in 5.5 seconds - car "enthusiasts" are rejoicing because that is the same acceleration as a Suzuki GSX-R1000 (list price £8949). So for just £892 per horsepower you can have the same acceleration as a GSX-R1000 which is £48 per horsepower. Oh yeah, that's a great deal! Shame they didn't test the Suzuki Hayabusa which has the same top speed but gets to 100mph in just over 3.5 seconds and at only £39 per horsepower. But what does that mean practically? Well, at Barbagallo racetrack in WA it means the following...for the races in 2008...

A casual glance at a beginner's physics textbook would reveal the joys of power to weight ratios. I wonder what how a Suzuki SV-1000s would compare? There's only one way to find out...right? Anyway - enough diversions...curse it...back to the proper research...
