An apology for hearing my "voice" again - I tried to convince one of the boys to blog in my place, but sadly they are lacking in energy after such a big weekend.
Jackson played six hours of senior cricket yesterday, bowling 5 overs (0/22) and batting for 4 overs (1 n.o.) as well as taking a catch. He was easily the fastest bowler, and in fact took a few batsmen by surprise (see pic). In his fourth over he hit one bloke on the scone, which was a bit sickening and upset Jackson, throwing him off his length in his last over. Hopefully he will put it behind him. We have tried to convince him that the decision not to wear a helmet is with the batsman and not the bowler. Anyway, it was a good match which Wickford won easily. He found the spectacle of 10 naked men parading around in the changerooms after the game a bit much, and was quickly outside and ready to go home! Fair enough!
Mitchell in the meantime had a sleepover on Canvey Island on Friday, then a full day partying in Basildon, followed by captaining the U13s today in a 40 over match (which they unfortunately lost), so he is a bit "shattered" as well.
The house is emptying out as we give away stuff and pack other stuff up ready for pick up in a week. I am hoping to hear something more positive on the job front this week - keep fingers and toes crossed!
